Rauf Aregbesola, the former Minister of Interior badmouthed for not voting at the Osun 2022 governorship election and at the 2023 National Assembly and to have influenced his caucus to work for the PDP may have come to realize that he has lost grip of the control of the structure of Osun chapter of APC as KAKAKIOODUA investigation has revealed that he has opted to grow in silence and re-strategize since he has lost some of his foot soldiers who against his wish, opted for political appointments under the ruling Osun PDP administration.
KAKAKIOODUA investigation revealed that Aregbesola seemed to have withdrawn from public glare, he is hardly seen at social functions after many of his loyalists were suspended from the APC.
Evidently, the former 2-term governor of Osun State today has no say in or control of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state since he is neither consulted nor approached on the day to day activities of the party in the state and even at the federal level.
As the quest of Osun APC to take back Osun for the Progressive come 2026 is gathering momentum some core Osun APC loyalists are still apprehensive that Aregbesola withdrawal to behind the scene silence mode might be inimical.
KAKAKIOODUA investigation has also revealed that though some bigwigs in the Aregbesola camp are not in total agreement with Aregbesola's political tactics as some have put pressure on him to at least make a greeting visit to Chief Bisi Akande.
Presently, the Osun APC under Sooko Tajudeen Lawal as the Chairman and trio of Gboyega Oyetola, Ajibola Basiru, and lyiola Omisore with President Bola Tinubu sworn-in as President without active contribution of Aregbesola and Oyetola emerging as Minister, and Ajibola Basiru taking over from lyiola Omisore as the National Secretary of the APC, the Osun APC might be waiting on Aregbesola to show a remorseful posture.
But KAKAKIOODUA investigation has also uncovered that Aregbesola is making a behind the scene wooing of some candidates of unpopular political parties in Osun East senatorial zone that lost elections at the last house of Assembly, National Assembly to join his caucus, suggesting that he might be nurturing an ambition for 2026.
