KOGI GOV'SHIP ELECTION: *How Melaye's Political Misfortune Demystified Adeleke's Status* - Osun APC

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the unfolding outcome of the governorship election in Kogi State as a political demystification of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke who was the campaign chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the contest.

According to the Osun State chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party's Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo, the state capital today, the unfolding results of the Kogi State governorship election, where the PDP candidate, Senator Dino Melaye, is trailing distance behind the APC Candidate, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, should be the metaphorical mirror with which Adeleke must have seen himself that he is empty politically.

Lawal stated that the statement made with the trouncing of Melaye, the PDP governorship candidate in the election, is that as it was in Kogi State in this year's election, so shall it be in Osun State in the 2026 governorship election.

The state APC chairman explained that it was either Adeleke exported political bad luck to Kogi State that spiritually infected the PDP governorship candidate or he was mistakenly overrated by the national leadership of the PDP who appointed him as the campaign chairman of his party in the election.

He hinted that it would now dawn on those who had thought that Adeleke had some tested election strategy that paved ways for him and his party in recent elections in Osun that the kick-and-start governor remains a political neophyte who was only lucky to have gotten away with the malfeasance he committed during those elections when he heavily used compromised security agents and political brigands to thwart the will of the electorate.

In Lawal's words: "We now know that wherever the accidental Governor Adeleke may be, he would be sweating profusely inside the air-conditioned apartment with the emerging results of the Kogi State governorship election that the game is up for him too in Osun State.

"The effect of the Kogi State governorship election results would undoubtedly put a stop to the ubiquitous gallivanting stance of the embattled Governor Adeleke in the Confluence State who was fond of boasting that his chairmanship of the campaign would translate to the repetition of electoral victory for the PDP as it was then fraudulently done in Osun State.

"I wondered why Governor Adeleke did not disclose to those who appointed him the Kogi State governorship election campaign chairman that his victory was a pyrrhic one, where no fewer than 30 innocent members of the state APC were dispatched to their graves untimely through the fire power of the PDP thugs?

"What I also don't know was whether Governor Adeleke informed those who idolise him outside the state that his victory was made possible because his supporters voted with ATM cards and other unacceptable items in his home town of Ede, under a heavy security protection on the day of the governorship election in Osun State.

"This time around, there is no hiding place for you, Adeleke, and your co-travellers, as my party, the APC, will use all available constitutional means to throw you out of the government during the 2026 governorship elections.

"Enough of the shame that your inglorious administration has brought to our hitherto respected state.

"We can see that you have the premonition that you are an illegal occupant in the Osun State Government House which perhaps has been the reason why you have not slept for a day there since the inauguration of your administration about one year ago.

"Now that you and your candidate and party have been humiliated in Kogi State, you may have a change of heart to release to the people of the state the Federal Government N9 Billion fuel subsidy removal palliative which you have failed to disburse to the struggling people of the state.

"In 2026, the vulnerable but good Osun people who have been at the receiving end of your callousness over the way you have mismanaged their resources shall use their voter cards to teach you a lesson by sending you back to your sister's bosom in Ede where you have been hiding since November 2022 when you snatched the mandate of the people.

"Finally, if the intention of Governor Adeleke is to delay the Federal Government palliative till the celebration of the first anniversary of his administration coming up in few days time, it shall be resisted by the right-thinking members of the society", Lawal warned.
