ALL SET FOR 2023 AKORAYE DAY IN MODAKEKE

The arrangements for the grand celebration of this year's Akoraye Day in Modakeke, Osun State, have reached an advanced stage as the main committee and various sub-committees saddled with the responsibilities of organizing the annual communal event have been working day and night to make it a monumental success.

The Global President of the Modakeke Progressives Union (MPU), Prof Peter Olawuni, and all the  national executive officers of the union have been playing their oversight functions of ensuring that the event is flawless.

To this extent, it is not unusual to see Prof Olawuni and his executive team going round and attending the meetings of the main and sub-committees handling the organization of the event.

It was gathered that all the chapters of the MPU in various towns within and beyond the shores of this country have been working towards the successful holding of the events through their moral and financial supports.

A fast-check within the community also revealed that all the compounds making up the ancient town have not been left behind as they have been contributing their own widow's mite towards the successful celebration of the event which is considered as a unifying factor for all the sons and daughters of the community.

It was also gathered that all the natives living in the hinterland of the town in various villages are also working assiduously not to be left behind towards the successful celebration of the event.

Further investigation proved that artisans of various trades, market men and women in the community  too are warming up to make the occasion rosy.

Information has it that the traditional monarch of the town, Oba Olubiyi Toriola Ajibise-Ogo 1, the Ogunsua of Modakeke, and his traditional chiefs, are already in festive mood as they are not taking chances in their efforts to add their own quota to make the event a huge success.

The chairman of this year's Akoraye Day Organizing Committee, Chief Adedayo Ojo, stated that he was convinced that the event holding on Saturday, December 16th, 2023,  would be a success as the various committees under him have been having sleepless nights in order to excel in the assignment before them.

Chief Ojo disclosed that the event would be a complete departure from the past ones as novel ideas that would propel it into a monumental success were injected into it.

He explained that invited dignitaries from all the sectors of the economy from various tribes both from within and outside the country were expected to add glamour to the occasion.

In Ojo's words: "We have been doing our best individually and collectively towards the successful celebration of this year's Akoraye Day. We are praying to God Almighty to crown our efforts".
