The Ijesa Community Development Assembly (ICDA) today met with the Management of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC) at the residence of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi.
The Ijesa Community Leaders were led to the meeting by the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi. Other prominent Ijesa Leaders in attendance were the former Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Folorunso Adewole; Chairman of Egbe Atunluse Ile-Ijesa, Prof Olu Obi ; Emeritus PMEC Chairman, Alagba Iyiola Faniyi, IGC PMEC Chairman, Alhaji Lateef Bakare; Chairman, IGC Medical Advisory Committee, Dr(Col) Akin Moses; President, Friends of IGC, Chief (Mrs) Dupe Ajayi Gbadebo; Vice Chairman PMT, Prince Lowo Adebiyi; Ijesa Leaders' Abuja Ambassador Barr. Femi Osobu; Prof Lawrence Oginni; and Mr Bukola Fadipe.
The OAUTHC Management was led by the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of OAUTHC, Prof John Akin Okeniyi. Also in his team were the CMAG, Prof Kola Komolafe; Director of Wesley Guild Hospital, Dr Olowookere; IGC Head, Dr Fakoya; and several other Heads of Department.
Also in attendance as an invited guest was the Director of UCH, Ibadan Geriatric Centre, Dr Femi Olowookere.
The meeting deliberated on stepping up the standard of operations at IGC and Wesley Guild Hospital; the Patients' Consultation Charges; Roles and Responsibilities of OAUTHC and complimentary roles of Ijesa Community; operating the IGC on 24/7 basis; briefing on updates on MedShare Equipment and Supplies to IGC; Nursing Infrastructure at Wesley Guild Hospital towards accreditation; deployment of the Interactive Robot; staffing of IGC and Wesley Guild Hospital; amongst others.
The meeting which was described by both parties as highly successful concluded by requesting the Management of OAUTHC to formally document and share with Ijesa Community Leaders its Blueprint on how to turn both the IGC and Wesley Guild Hospital into world class medical service delivery centres for the consideration of Ijesa Community Leaders.
Further Ijesa Community Leaders' meeting will be convened to deliberate upon receipt of inputs from OAUTHC Management.
