Nigeria Will Be Good and Great Again says Rt. Rev. Prof. Asaju as Japa Syndrome Reechoes At Okunmadewa's Breakfast Fellowship.....(PHOTOS)

The trending out-migration of Nigerians to the UK, USA, Canada and other parts of the world known as "japa" is a matter for concern with multifaceted implications.

Rt. Rev. Prof. Dapo Folorunso Asaju, the Diocesan of Ilesa Anglican Diocese made the remarks on Tuesday in his sermon in Ilesa, at the 14th edition of the yearly breakfast fellowship set aside by the family of Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa to appreciate the blessings and the protection enjoyed in the year that is ending, share the words of God with their guests and prepare with prayers for the new year 2024.

Prof. Asaju attributed the "JAPA Syndrome" to factors such as high poverty levels, rising unemployment, the deplorable economy and the lingering security issues evident in Nigeria and many other countries of the world.

Nigeria will be good and great again, he asserted as he implored parents and guardians to train the younger generation to remember their roots because it is important to know where they come from, particularly, all the beautiful things that the  great Ijesa progenitors did.

"Remember your root, let your children know their roots. Nigeria will be better, pray for the peace in Nigeria, human beings are very forgetful once they are comfortable they forget God." He said as he led the attendees in prayers for Nigeria, Osun State, Ijesaland and families of participants before all the guests were treated to a sumptuous breakfast.

One other important highlight of the annual breakfast get-together is the host family giving gifts to regular participants and friends of the family that made landmark achievements. Friends of the family that attained age 60, 70, 80 are specifically recognized.

Mr. Deji Komolafe who turned 60 in the year 2022 was presented with his gift.

Chief Bosun Falore Proprietor of Mind  Builders, Lagos who also recently turned 70 and the euphoria of his birthday celebration could still be felt even at the fellowship was presented with his gift.

Master Biola Mohamed also received gift for his academic attainment as he is progressing in PHD study.
