President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new board and management team for the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
According to a statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the Chairman of the Commission, Jalal Arabi, remains in the office as the chairman of the Commission with Aliu Abdulrazaq serving as the Commissioner, Policy, Personnel, & Finance.
Ngelale said that the president gave approval to the appointments to ensure hitch-free and seamless 2024 Hajj operations.
The president also confirmed the appointment of Prince Anofi Elegushi as the Commissioner Operations and Professor Abubakar A. Yagawal as the Commissioner, Planning & Research.

Muhammad Umaru Ndagi is to represent North Central Nigeria, Abba Jato Kala — North East, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman — North West.
Also Tajudeen Oladejo Abefe represents South West, Aishat Obi Ahmed — South East, Zainab Musa — South South, Professor Musa Inuwa Fodio — Jama’atul Nasril Islam
The president also approved the appointment of Professor Adedimeji Mahfouz Adebola to represent Supreme Council on Islamic Affairs.
The president mandated the appointees to dedicate themselves to the task of ensuring that operations of the National Hajj Commission are more efficient, transparent, and responsive to the needs of Nigerians.
