14 school pupils of Apostolic Faith Nursery and Primacy School, Emure Ekiti, abducted Monday by suspected armed bandits have been released.

The children were discharged Friday evening by their abductors after four agonizing days in their custody..

Unconfirmed reports say that the release of the children and their two teachers was not unconnected with the moves made by the executive governor of Ekiti State, Abiodun Oyebanji.

The governor had swung into action, taking steps towards quick release of the children who were abducted same day two traditional rulers were mowed down by dare devil abductors along Oke Ako/Irele road.

The 14 emaciating children were seen at the palace of the Elemure of Emure Ekiti, where they were taken straight from their release.

It is unclear whether ransom was paid and how much.

Governor Oyebanji has been holding security meetings daily since the Monday incidence while security operatives were deployed into the forest in search of the children.

A source said drones and helicopters were deployed to fish out the location of the abducted children, following a meeting by Oyebanji with the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun

The children were shown with shock still visible in their faces as at press time..

The children were kidnapped  on their way home from school with two of their teachers by the armed men.
