AFTERMATH OF IBADAN EXPLOSION: UNPRECEDENTED AFFECTION BY IJESA LEADERS TO ITS ASIWAJU (PHOTOS)

Travelling a distance of well over 100 kilometres from different communities in Ijesaland, by different segments of Ijesa Leaderships from Traditional Rulers; Political Class; Pan-Ijesa Societies and Clubs; Religious Leaders and Organisations; Market Men and Women; to Prominent Community Leaders, etc, for the same and singular purpose and goal of commiserating, express empathy, solidarity, love, concern, and camaraderie to both Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi and Yeye Asiwaju Dr Olubisi Fasuyi, in a far away Ibadan City is holistically unprecedented. It has never happened like this before! If my memory did not fail me, it is the first of its kind in Ijesaland.

IBADAN EXPLOSION: Ijesa Development Council, Roots Club of Ijesaland, Ijesa Sports Club, Pay Sympathy Visit on Asiwaju Fasuyi, Yeye Asiwaju

This is apart from numerous calls, messages, letters, and emails confirmed received by these highly celebrated and loved Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju of Ijesaland from high and low; from men and women; from home and in the diaspora; from old and young; from faithful and pagans; and from Ijesas and Non-Ijesas.

The consensus amongst all is that these Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju deserve this sacrifice and honour and even more if only for the appreciation of their uncommon and unprecedented patriotism, sacrifice of labour, affection, and unflinching commitments to the cause of sustainable development in Ijesaland.

Even where the Asiwajus diplomatically encouraged a halt to the droves of daily visitors to their premises at Supreme Management Consultants, Ibadan Business School, and IBS Hotel all in Bodija Ibadan over the aftermath of Ibadan Explosion that caused damages to their multi-billion Naira properties, the appreciative and compassionate Ijesa people would not heed any of that but rather kept flooding the premises with attendant daily travelling risks for the third week running, to their own adorable, time-tested, quintessential Leaders, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi and Yeye Asiwaju Dr Olubisi Fasuyi.

The Management and Staff of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) paid a sympathy visit to the President Ibadan Business School, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi at his Bodija Ibadan office today, Friday 2nd February 2024.

A key lesson to take home from this incident is that Ijesas appreciate Leaders who are there for them always as ably demonstrated in the spontaneous and simultaneous rising of all Ijesas, home and abroad, in identifying with two of their own proven leaders, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi and Yeye Asiwaju Dr Olubisi Fasuyi, at this trying period.

That there's unity in Ijesaland today has been sufficiently demonstrated by this unified affection towards the Asiwajus by all Ijesas. Maybe this is a reward for the Asiwajus themselves being the architects of the unity that they are enjoying  today!

In the meantime, the Board of Advisors of Ibadan Business School, whose infrastructure were partially affected held an emergency meeting on Thursday, 2st February 2024 to review the extent of damages to the School's infrastructure and thereafter resolved as that the School be shut down after the close of business hours on Friday, 2nd February 2024, for four weeks in the first instance, to enable the rehabilitation works commence in earnest.

During this rehabilitation exercise, the management shall be constrained to receive further visitors to the School premises due the need to observe safety precautions whilst the rehablitation works are ongoing.

In the light of above, the Board and Management would like to sincerely appreciate all organisations, communities, and individuals who have identified with the School during this period.
