IJESA- A MODEL TO OTHERS

Regardless of age, status and other socio-economic  considerations, the Holy book posits that your neighbor is either your friend, companion or generally a jolly good fellow.

In summary, whosoever that you have the wherewithal to support and assist is your neighbor.

It was a matriarch of the Fadahunsi dynasty in the early '70s who once prophesied that *at the fullness of time, the development of Ijesaland would rest on the shoulders of Ijesa themselves*

There's no better time to exemplify this prophecy than now when monumental and legacy developments are being recorded with the sweat of the sons and daughters of Ijesaland while many more projects are still in contemplation.

Needless to say that many people and communities far and near are befuddled with the ease with which Ijesa are accomplishing set goals in recent past.

If the national health policy is potent, there might not have been any need to mobilize for Geriatric hospital nor would there have been a need to intervene in the medical care of Abiodun Aponjolosun of Akewi Igbala fame.

The medical intervention for Aponjolosun wasn't happenstance, Olatubosun Abe a.k.a Hinpele benefitted similarly communal assistance during and after his health challenges.

As at the time of filing this report, as many as fifty six (56) noble Ijesa have contributed three million, two hundred and fifteen thousand Naira (N3,215,000.00) out of the bill of six million Naira (N6m) to save the life of Akewi Igbala who has already undergone two surgeries for spine degeneration and lumbar issue at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.

Once restored, the man would be able to resume his media service particularly the rendition of oration in Ijesa language.

Just as Ijesa home and abroad will be making history as another victory beckons in this instance, the statement must be made that some people have doubled their contributions yet an appeal is being made for others to do same while those patriots who are yet to register their donation still have the ample chance to save a life.

When Aponjolosun eventually overcomes his current travails, he will be a happy person but the indomitable spirit of Ijesa would be the better for the effort.
