The All Progressives Congress in Ijesaland have congratulated the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola on the prestigious award conferred on him by the Ilesa Grammar School Old Students Association at an event climaxing the school's 90th Founders' Day celebrations on Saturday.
In a heart-warming message signed on behalf of the entire members of the party by the Chairman of Elder Council of APC in Ijesaland, Elder Kunle Odeyemi, the award was described as befitting considering the contribution of the former governor to uncompromised and quality education in the state, especially on the masterly manner he managed the controversial school re-classification policy of then Government.
The party equally extol Oyetola for making the Ijesa dream of having a university come to reality with the establishment of University of Ilesa.
According to them, it is because of profound contribution of Oyetola in the education sector in Ijesaland during his four years stint that many of the party men still walk freely, shoulder high.
"To start, we appreciate the leadership of the prestigious Ilesa Grammar School for bestowing on our Leader, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, the esteemed Renaissance Award for his efforts at restoring the glory of the great school which many across the Nigeria consider as citadel of excellence and learning," the Ijesa APC's statement reads.
The statement reads further ,"We are glad that our people in the famous Ilesa Grammar School have conveyed the right message that the restoration of the Ilesa Grammar School to her old status brought to them , after the period of neglect occasioned by the then reclassification policy"
The party notes that the performance of ex-Governor Oyetola while in office was exemplary and will be a reference point on good governance for a long time to call.
The party wish the minister success in his national assignment and express confidence that more relevant awards that will testify to his dedication and the positively peculiar role he played when he held sway as Osun governor.
