Oba Aromolaran Endorses Adeleke for Second Term?..How some chiefs in the palace try to fool generality of Ijesa people

Three days ago, I read an online publication that the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran CFR, LLD and the Ọwa in Council have endorsed Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke for a second term and that the frontline traditional ruler gave the endorsement when the Governor paid an unscheduled royal homage to the King at his palace on Wednesday 21st February.

What crossed my mind straight away was that some chiefs in the palace have decided to drag the name of our respectable Paramount Ruler in the mud.

Reading the publication, a Press Release e-Signed by Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Spokesperson to the State Governor further justified my assumption... "that Oba Aromolaran described Governor Adeleke as a man of his words who fulfilled his promise to establish a world-class university in Ilesa and that Senator Adeleke has changed the narrative of Ilesa to a university town within one year of his assumption in office."

That Oba Aromolaran said many politicians in the past have made empty promises of establishing a university in the town in deception just to curry electoral victory.

In my opinion, the said publication is a distortion of the fact and an embarrassment to the generality of the right-thinking Ijesa sons and daughters who keenly followed the tracks of events that led to the approval of the University of Ilesa and it's final establishment.

Give honor to whom honor is due, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola deserves this honor unquestionably.

I was not in the palace for the coverage of the visit, so I wonder to know who was speaking for Kabiyesi Oba (Dr) Adekunle Aromolaran CFR LLD, but as a close observer of the activities of the palace and a respecter of the intellectual acumen of our royal father, I would vouch that our Paramount Ruler would not mince words on who and who played pivotal role in the final approval and establishment of our long sought-after university.

It is too early for waves of second term endorsements to start trickling in and our respected and widely read Oba Adekunle Aromolaran would not under any sort of pressure, cajole or inducements rush to make an endorsement statement at this time.

Let those chiefs with PDP blood running in their blood veins tread with caution and not involve our Paramount Ruler in any hanky-panky and mud splashing.

My opinion.
