The Southwest Commodities Farmers Organization is planning a one-day summit for what it said, is to discuss food security cum best practices that will improve efficiency in the agricultural value chain.
The one-day retreat, whose theme is "Sustainable Food Production in Southwest Nigeria: The Way Forward" is scheduled to take place at the International Conference Center, University of Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday 18th April, 2024.
A flyer seen by KAKAKIOODUA on Friday from the office of Prince Segun Dasaolu, SouthWest Coordinator highlighted dignitaries expected to take part at the one-day summit.
Topical issues including good practice in modern day farming as well as how the Southwest zone can increase crop production to ensure food security in Nigeria, among others would be discussed.
The event will feature highly interactive discussions with key players from different agricultural commodities farmers and one – on – one access to key agricultural policy makers.
Sen. Abubakar Kyari, Minister For Agriculture would be the Chief Speaker Of The Day, while Oba (Dr) Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (0jaja I),the Ooni of Ife has been invited as the Royal Father Of The Day.
Engr. Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State would be the Chief Host where the invited Special Guests of Honor are Mr Babajide Sanwolu, Governor Of Lagos State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor Of Ondo State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Governor ôf Ogun State, Mr Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Governor Of Ekiti State and Senator Ademola Adeleke, Governor Of Osun State.
