Sequel to the successful working visit of the nation's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to Osun State on Tuesday, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that it is not in the character of the party to be an intruder to a programme where it is not invited.
The wife of the President had visited Osun for the official turning of the sod of the Alternative High School for the Girls in Osogbo, the state capital, on Wednesday, where all the dignitaries in the state except the APC leadership and its members were invited to by the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration.
In his remark on the development, the state chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party's Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, on Wednesday, said it was unbelievable that the state government could act in a funny way by playing a dirty politics with the working visit of the wife of Mr. President to the state.
Lawal explained that it was the dirty politics consciously played by the Peoples Democratic Party PDP-run administration in the state that secured a query from the nation's First Lady for Governor Adeleke instead of the expected fraudulent accolade when Senator Tinubu demanded for the whereabouts of her own state party chairman on such occasion when Mr Sunday Bisi, the state PDP chairman, who thought he could steal the show was introduced.
The state APC chairman stated that what Governor Adeleke failed to understand with the First Lady's query to him on the failure of his government to invite the APC chairman and members to the official function of the state is that the meaning of any word or a sentence spoken at any particular point in time is not total.
Lawal explained that who ever is blessed with the hindsight would not fail to observe that the displeased Senator who is a seasoned and experienced politician of note was armed with sufficient information why the state APC was not represented on the occasion.
The state APC chairman asked if it could have been possible for all the dignitaries who graced the occasion to have honoured the occasion without being officially invited by the state government?
In Lawal's words: "The wife of the President is one of our own. She is the mother of the nation whose understanding of the strange politics being played by the Adeleke administration to oppress and victimize the opposition is in the front burner.
"The widely reported issue where the two wives of Governor Adeleke were fighting over the first Ladyship of the state to host the respectable nation's First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria could be enough source of worry to discerning minds that the situation could be a recipe to rock the peace of the state during the visit of which the Adeleke advisers might blame the opposition for.
"Upon all, we thank God for the successful working visit of the nation's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to our state and we appreciate her understanding of the knowledge of the dirty politics being played by the incumbent administration of Governor Adeleke which prompted her to demand for why the state APC leadership and the members were excluded from the event.
"We are equally grateful to the wife of the President for preventing the PDP-led government from locating the project in Ede," the state APC chairman stated.
