SAD: Container truck crushes UNILESA staff

On Wednesday, a container truck crashed into a car near  University of Ilesa's campus, killing the female driver and critically injuring her passenger.

The deceased, described as university employees Mrs. Beatrice Fanimokun a.k.a Mama Ijebujesa and Mr. Salako, were reportedly making their way home after work when one of the three truck drivers in a convoy veered out of control, crashed into the incoming car, and crushed it.

The driver of the unfortunate car was found dead, and it took the Federal Road Safety Corps, police, and supporters around three hours to retrieve her body and place it in the hospital's mortuary.

It required work on the part of the university management to persuade the students to refrain from going on the rampage.

According to a member of the management of the institution, the school will speak to the students tomorrow and promise the community tranquilly.

It was said that the trucks transporting cocoa and cashew nuts to Lagos belonged to the Ilesa-based Faseru Produce Company.

Mrs. Fanimokun was a senior member of the university's library staff until her passing.

Effort to speak with the police as at the time of this report was unsuccessful
