Scholarship donors of the Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC) Ilesa, an Ijesa Development Agenda, aim to salvage the future of the young ones for a more promising tomorrow, met physically with the scholarship recipients whom they are supporting on Saturday, 25th May, 2024. The Ijesa Community Development Council ICDA arranged “scholarship holders meeting" in Ilesa on Saturday was attended by 21 of the 75 ICDA scholarship sponsors. All the 250 scholarship recipients were also present at the event held in the college's assembly hall.
One of the policies of the ICDA is to establish personal contact and organize regular meetings between scholarship donors and their beneficiaries with the aim of encouraging relationship building and mentorship.
During the gathering the sponsors were able to meet with the beneficiaries whom they are supporting and the students were delighted to meet with their scholarship donors as both sides spent their time in lively conversation.
Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi Asiwaju of Ijesaland enthusiastically described his experiences as he admonished the recipients to show their seriousness to educational pursuit, commitment to make it in life so as to graduate and become employers of labor.
In his speech, Asiwaju Fasuyi expressed his joy in being able to support deserving students in their pursuit of education. He emphasized the importance of giving back to the community and investing in the next generation of skillful professionals.
The President of Ijesa South Traditional Rulers Council and Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa, HRM Oba Oyeleye Kehinde Oyebade, Elegboro of Ijebu-jesa, HRM Oba Moses Olufemi Agunsoye and the Vice President, Ijesa Society Lagos Alhaji Lateef Bakare equally took their time of the visit to meet with the beneficiary students. The interaction was nothing short of inspiring. It was a moment of heartfelt connection and shared aspirations as they discussed the student's academic journey and future goals.
To be considered for a empowerment with tools after graduation, the recipients must come out in excellent grades.
Prince Abiodun Lufadeju, the composer of Ijesa anthem led the students at singing the anthem.
In a show of gratitude filled excitement, the Principal of the School, Dr (Mrs) Idowu Akinbamijo expressed her appreciation for the ICDA members deliberateness in giving back to Ijesa communities through this ongoing contributions to their youths technical educational pursuit.
