The Osun State Police Command has arrested one Damilola Damoche a suspected criminal gang member of Dauda Ajagungbade popularly know as Emir on Saturday.
The Police Response Unit (PRU) patrol team arrested the suspect at Balogun Agoro Osogbo on Saturday and recovers 4 pump actions and 2 cut to size local Dane Gun, cutlasses and Daga Knife.
But a police source who pleaded anonymity said Dauda Ajagungbade escaped arrest when the police invaded the area and still at large as at the time of filling this report.
Damilola is currently undergoing interrogation at the Osun Police Command.
The police source said " The PRU were on a regular patrol at Gbemu junction and Balogun Agoro area Osogbo and spotted Damilola popularly known as Damoche, one of the suspected criminal gang of Ajagungbade who has been on wanted list of the police over the crisis that broke out last week in the area and the police team arrested him, he immediately provided the clue of where Ajagungbade was in the area but escaped before the police stormed the area."
"The arrest led to the recovery of 4 Pump Action, 2 local Cut to Size Dane Guns, Cutlasses and Daga Knife but were unable to arrest Ajagungbade." The source who pleaded not to mention his name because she is not authorised to speak on the matter said.
It would be recalled that Gbemu area and Balogun Agoro has become a crisis flash point since the release of Ajagungbade over persistent crisis in the area. He was reported to have invaded a construction site last week to collect money which later resulted to rival group clash the thrown the area into crisis.
