A former Nigerian Ambassador to Philippines, Dr. Yemi Farounbi, has expressed his assessment of the self help developmental efforts embarked on by the Ijesa people in recent time and what he expects other communities to do.
This was as Prince Abiodun Lufadeju recently paid him a visit to solicit his cooperation for the upcoming video edition of the Ijesa Anthem.
Dr. Farounbi in a video shared with KAKAKIOODUA remarked that the greatest thing that has happened to Yorubaland in the last three years is the self help development efforts of the Ijesa people.
Highlighting the recently built ultramodern palace, the Ijesaland Geriatric Centre and the ongoing Ijesa elderly people health insurance plan, Dr. Farounbi said in the video that this is the type of development other communities should emulate,
"There must be societal efforts to compliment whatever the government is doing". He said
Ambassador Farounbi was full of praises to Ijesa elders for the energy and commitment to Ijesa development in recent times as he commits his technical support towards the production of the video version of the Ijesa anthem.
