I moved to the gate of my house, looked up but I didn't seen any body. However, when I looked at the nearest roundabout, I saw two people lying on the floor. They were still alive, the defendant (Olalekan) was standing before them.
"The moment I sighted the defendant (Olalekan) because I know him very well, I approached him and asked that what was the offence of the people lying flat before him. I pleaded that he should free them and in the process, he told me not to intervene because I don't know their offence. My phone rang and decided to pick the call. It was my child calling, asking me to return home. While receiving the call, Olalekan approached me and forcefully collected my phone and used big stone to smash my Samsung A 27 phone.
"After smashing my phone, he used the same stone to break the head of one of the people who were lying down before him and that one died immediately. One of the victims' name was Muriana Olayiwola. I went to Dugbe Police Station to report and they came to CMS junction. They met the dead body and evacuated him to LAUTECH, ( Now Uniosun Teaching Hospital) with the support of Anti Cultism Police team led by one Inspector Gabriel." Muikaila narrated.
Counsel to the defendant, Edmond Biriomoni, during the cross-examination asked the witness how he identified and recognized Olayiwola's name and the witness replied that his family members told him his name when they came to the morgue to claim the corpse of the deceased.
The defense counsel however requested for the statement written by the witness at the police station and tendered it as Exhibit 1A.
