"Ijesaland is proud of a university and the credit of this goes to you".... Aromolaran hails Oyetola for creating UniIlesa …says his enduring legacies live on …as Minister harps on quality education






Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromonlaran has once again applauded the former Governor of Osun and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola CON for being the actualizer of the long overdue and age-long agitated creation of Ilesa University which is now a reality.


The paramount ruler of Ijesaland who couldn’t hide his enthusiasms over the successful establishment of the University by the erstwhile Governor said the people of Ijesaland would forever be grateful to him for rekindling their hope.


Oba Aromolaran spoke on Saturday at the symposium organised in commemoration of the 25th Memorial Anniversary of late Chief Michael Akintayo Fadeyi, the founder of the popular Ifeoluwa Grammar, School, Osogbo held in Osogbo.


The revered monarch who was represented by Alagbeda of Agbeda Ijesa, High Chief Adesoji Adeniyi, said the former governor had left indelible footprint in the sand of time most significantly in Ijesaland.


Oba Aromolaran attested to the incredible performance of the former Governor while serving the people of the State noting that history would forever be kind to his administration.


“No doubt, your enduring legacies live on and you would forever be remembered for good for the great works you did. As it it is, Ijesaland is proud of a university and the credit of this goes to you. I must acknowledge the fact that today, the University has been developing to an appreciable level and this is made possible due to your efforts”, he added.


Earlier, Oyetola expressed gratitude to God for being part of the event describing late Fadeyi as a thoroughbred educationist whose entire life was spent to serve God and humanity.


Oyetola who was the Chief Guest Speaker at the occasion harped on the promotion of quality education in the country as panacea to all round growth and development.


The Minister recalled the impacts made by late Fadeyi’s dynasty in the education sector just as he implored well-meaning Nigerians to invest in the education sector.


In his short remarks, the former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola who was the Chairman of the occasion, praised the family for being a shining light worthy of emulation.


The occasion was graced by members of the Ifeoluwa Grammar School Old Students’ Association, traditional rulers, ijesa leaders, politicians, among others.
