ILEGRAMMS CLASS OF 73/78 UNVEILS MEMBERS WELFARE AGENDA AT AKURE 2024 REUNION ..... packages include health assistance, organized health lectures, NHIA registration






The Ilesa Grammar School, Ilesa, Osun state, Alumni Class of 1973-78 recently had their mid-year general meeting.

The event tagged "Akure 2024" took place on Saturday, 18th June 2024 at the residence of Mrs Kikelomo Ajibola in the Alagbaka GRA in Akure, Ondo state.

 

The President of the set, Mr. Babatunde Adewale in his welcome address applauded the interventions of the group in crafting a cultural evolution desired to make the set outstanding among all Ilegramms old students associations' sets.




"Our completion of the legacy project and outing at the 90th anniversary are truly nostalgic, our introduction of the Call & Greet which has been enthusiastically embraced by you all,  our commitment to the welfare of our members, and the persistence of our membership drive committee in searching for “ new” members ( which has yielded results) are all monumental achievements that will remain evergreen." He said





The Welfare Support Guidelines of the set which is to be enshrined in their constitution under review made it obligatory for all members to pay both the annual membership contributions and welfare support.


"There are lots of benefits which our Welfare Funds will bring to our members, especially as we are growing older and need support for health care and our general well being."






At the meeting, the Hope for the Living Agenda of the welfare committee was unveiled which provides for welfare assistance for the health of members, health lectures during meetings, National Health Insurance. 


The Association as well opted to support the National Health Insurance Funds of the Ijesa Community Development Association ICDA by contributing into the fund.


Also, one of the cardinal objectives of the Association is their commitment to the cause of their alma mater as they recently had a live conversation on their WhatsApp platform concerning the deteriorating state of the academic performance of the school in public examinations. The recommendations of the Panelists, and how the group can contribute to change the narratives were also discussed at the meeting.

The event witnessed birthday celebration for attendees born in the month of June; Engr Tunde Oladeru, Elder Oluwaloni Adufe, Mrs Iyabode Dada and Elder Wole Awolusi.



Dignitaries too numerous to list graced the occasion. Among those who added colour to the day were Mr. Tunde Adewal, Olubunmi Otolorin, Sade Ajibade, Mr. Mr. Yinka Alo, Afolabi Igbaroola, Elder Wole Awolusi, Elder Popoola Owoeye, Mrs Omolewa Oke,  Mrs Ibitola Oladeji, Mrs Adefunke Ajayi, Revd Mrs Funmi Popopola, Arc Kayode Ajayi, Mr. Kayode Olusesi, Mr. Idowu Ojo, Elder Oluwaloni Adufe, Mr. Abideen Yekeen, Mrs Bolanle Adewunmi, Mrs. Iyabode Dada, Mr. Ademilola Adewole, Mr. Femi Olabisi, Mrs. Modupe Faseun.


In the course of the meeting, Mrs Oyenike Ola, Pastor Tim Bello, Dr Sola Famurewa, Mr Akin Lemoru Mr Israel Agboola Momoh and Mrs Iyabo Fajemisin sent in their felicitation and goodwill greetings.
