Ondo State Govt Responds to Judgement Nullifying LCDAs...Intends to pursue necessary legal actions

The Ondo State Government has responded to the recent judgment nullifying the establishment of the 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state. In a statement released by the Attorney General of the state, Kayode Ajulo, the government emphasized its intention to pursue necessary legal actions in light of the court’s ruling.

Justice A.O Adebusuoye of the state High Court had declared the creation of the LCDAs unlawful, citing the signing of the Local Government Creation Law 2023 by late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in Ibadan as unconstitutional and illegal.

Ajulo confirmed that the government is fully aware of the court’s decision and has requested a Certified True Copy of the judgment for detailed examination and legal analysis. Following this review, the Attorney General assured that appropriate legal advice would be presented to the state government.

The statement reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting the interests of citizens, promoting peaceful coexistence, and upholding the rule of law. Ajulo affirmed his dedication to ensuring that justice prevails and the law is upheld for the welfare of the people of Ondo State.
