An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) took his own life on Monday at his residence in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
According to Punch, the deceased, whose identity has not been disclosed, was a member of Course 5 of the EFCC academy.
Speaking to the press, EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale stated that an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. He mentioned that the agency is exploring possible factors such as mental health and family challenges that may have contributed to the operative’s decision to commit suicide.
Oyewale emphasized that the Commission will not release any statements or disclose the operative’s name until the investigation is concluded.
