Herbalist K*lls Friend’s in Osun...Removes Throat...Blames Devil

Ganiyu Kehinde, an herbalist from Oba-Oke, Osun State, has confessed to killing his friend, Emmanuel Collins, to obtain human parts for money rituals. Kehinde was among several suspects paraded by the police at the Osun Command headquarters in Osogbo on Friday.

According to Yemisi Opalola, spokesperson for the Osun Police Command, Collins, a 35-year-old Ghanaian, was reported killed on July 9, 2024.

The investigation, initiated by a report at Oke-Odo Division, led to Kehinde’s arrest. He admitted to the crime, revealing that he visited Collins’ home, where he found him asleep due to illness. Kehinde then used a knife to slit Collins’ throat and subsequently dried the throat for three days. He burned it in a clay pot with ritual materials at a location in Oba-Oke village, mixing the resulting powder with soap for the ritual.

Kehinde, who described himself as an herbalist, told journalists that he was driven by demonic influence to commit the act. “I couldn’t control myself. I killed my friend for a money ritual. After killing him, I used his throat to make ritual soap. I’ve done similar rituals for others before,” Kehinde confessed.

Also paraded was 22-year-old Effiong Saviour, who allegedly attacked a woman in Ipetumodu, robbing her of a handbag containing a phone, GTB ATM card, and N6,000, after inflicting machete wounds.

Opalola warned against criminal activities, stating that all suspects will face court proceedings once investigations are completed. She urged residents to provide timely information to help prevent crime.
