INTERROGATE SANYA OMIRIN OVER POLITICAL KILLINGS IN IJESALAND...Osun APC To Police

Hon. Sanya Omirin

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has thumbed up the state police command over the arrest of one of the dangerous thugs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Olabode Owoeye notoriously known as "Bode Itaapa," cautioning that no stone should be left untouched in prosecuting all the criminals behind the dastardly killings of the supporters of the APC, just as the opposition party appealed to the police to investigate the involvement of the lawmaker representing Ijesa-South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Sanya Omirin, who was mentioned as the mastermind of the  heinous activities that raised their ugly heads in the last elections in the state.

Owoeye, the Osun State PDP daredevil thug, who was paraded by the police at the state police command on Wednesday, was said to have  earlier volunteered a statement depicting him as being responsible for the killings of some of the APC members and supporters in the state during the 2022 governorship and the 2023 general elections, at the instance and directive of Omirin.

The APC had cried out ceaselessly before and after the elections that the elections were not free, fair and credible as no fewer than 30 members of the opposition members and supporters were gunned down by the PDP janjaweed.

It is also on record that Omirin had boasted at a political meeting before the elections that he would use maximum violence to win the elections just the way and manner he had been using similar obnoxious, inhuman and wicked means to win elections for the candidates of his party in the past.

In his comment on the development, the Osun State chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party's Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, today, stated that the confessional statement of Bode Itaapa to be responsible for the killings in Ijesaland in general and Atakumosa-East in particular has vindicated the APC on its claim that the elections weren't free or fair.

Lawal who commended the police for doing a marvelous job enjoined the law enforcement agents to get to the root of the matter by instantly inviting Hon Sanya Omirin to clear his name on the criminal matter as a lawmaker must be seen to be above board on any issue of criminality.

The state APC chairman explained that it was imperative for the police to extend their investigative dragnets on the matter by arresting and prosecuting all the suspects mentioned in the killings of the APC members if only to serve as a deterrent in the future elections.

According to the Osun State APC chairman: "When we were insisting that the PDP didn't play by the rules during the last elections in the state, some people did not believe our allegations. But now that the truth is coming out, it is obvious that all the PDP candidates who later won the controversial elections, the results of which fraudulently catapulted them into various elected and appointed  political offices, are stepping on the blood of the innocent members of our party.

"I am also imploring the police to take care of the safety of Bode Itaapa as some of the names of his other PDP sponsors would shake the state to its foundation.

"It is wicked of the PDP members and chieftains in Ijesaland that they can afford to fill comfortable with the shedding of the blood of the fellow Ijesa natives for political reason.

"That Bode Itaapa, a PDP member and thug, could be callous and inconsiderate enough to have confessed to be working in cahoot with Adefioye Solomon a.k.a. 'Solo Iwara' and Samuel David  to kill our member, Ibrahim Taiwo Adebiyi a.k.a. 'Omo Alaja', at Eti-Oni in Atakumosa-East Local Government Council Area of the state; two miners, Kelechi Agha, Tega Robinson; shot Hon Ayodeji Olaolu, an APC House of Representatives aspirant in the 2023 election, in the head and chest, should be a verifiable cause of action for his arraignment without further delay.

"For God's sake, Bode Itaapa does not deserve to be living among human beings as what he could be doing with a locally-made Barreta Pistol with life cartridges, one single barreled gun, one pump action gun, face masks and charms if he is not fugitive to justice, remains a source of worry to any right-thinking members of the society.

"I am also urging the police to intensify their investigation with a view to verifying the entity that owns a private security outfit guarding the mining site in Iperindo and environs who lured the political thugs with  motorcycles and jumbo pay to encourage them to attack members of the public.

"Once again, on behalf of our party, the APC in Osun State, I am giving kudos to the police over their relentless effort to fish out the criminals whose nefarious activities have been disturbing the peace of the state", Lawal stated.
