Kolapo Alimi: ALÁGBÀRO TÓ SI OKO GBÀ (A Farm Labourer that underestimated his task).... By Ismail Omipidan

On the 8th day of March, 2024, I published a piece, titled: "Alimi: The New PDP lying machine in Osun." In that piece, I revealed how Oluomo Kolapo Alimi started off as a teacher and  later read law and became a lawyer. Fortune smiled on him and he became a commissioner when all he wanted was to be a scribe of a Local Government. After serving as commissioner throughout the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola's era as Governor of Osun, he looked forward to being the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the State, but Allah, the giver and taker of all things, did not make that happen.

From then, he went berserk, cursing and insulting everyone in sight, including the immediate past Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola. He left the APC, joined the PDP. But before he joined the PDP, he busied himself with the task of abusing Oyetola regularly, including telling lies against my principal. Isn't that "Pull Him Down" syndrome? However, that has not been part of my intervention in recent days. I only asked Dr. Deji Adeleke to fulfil his promise and he and Mr. Olawale Rasheed came in his defense. While Mr. Rasheed attempted to answer some of the questions I asked albeit without proof, Alimi's response has been full of frustration and abuses on my person. Oluomo, my brother, let's engage like reasonable and educated members of the society and not like internet urchins whose livelihood depends on the number of insults haul at the perceived enemy on behalf of their paymasters.

That said, let me say that your response appears to have compounded the whole issue. Ask me how? You told us there are 15 agencies under the Governor's office that expended N22 billion in 18 months, and N 5.2 billion in three months, but you have only listed nine and even in the list, some are suspect. For instance, I am aware that the Office of the Deputy Governor, that of the Chief of Staff and the Bureau of General Services are all appendages under the Office of the Governor. I am equally aware that the Bureau of Government House and Protocol is an appendage under the Bureau of General Services. So, when did they all become parastatals/agencies with full blown staff? To the best of my knowledge, the SDG office draw their budget through counterpart funding or is your government doing something different? We did not run a Bureau of Communication, that is why I was never named a director, and with my successor's nomenclature, I doubt if you are running a Bureau of Communication. However, assuming without conceding that these are the so called agencies you had in mind when you made the claim on July 7, what about the remaining six? Also, can you oblige the public with what went into each that made your Principal expended N5.2 billion in the first three months of 2024 and N22billion from January 2023 and March 2024?

As government's spokesman, I expected you to also provide responses to the other issues I raised in my "Osun's maladministration: still awaiting Dr. Deji Adeleke's press conference (part 2)," since you have elected to take the baton from Mr. Rasheed. Egbon, wait a minute, which resources are you calling little? The humongous amount that have accrued to the State in 18 months, an amount over and above what my Principal got in 47 months, is what you call little? Any way, I have said it before and I would repeat it here for the umpteenth time that there is no basis for comparison between my principal, a man with an unblemished track record of private sector experience before going into politics, and a loafer who had to depend on his rich siblings to make a living and who only came to prominence in Osun in 2014 when he was beatified as a mascot and vixen to attract crowd at campaign ground.

Check your records well, Governor Adeleke spent N3 billion for security services in 2023 as against your claim that he has never accessed  security vote. If he did not access security vote, what was the N3 billion for security services for?

My Principal has been discharging his responsibility well, and he was

vindicated by PEBEC, a presidential council led by the Vice President of Nigeria, which declared him the best Minister in Ease of Doing Business in Nigeria. No honour could be better than that.

My brother, continue with your mess cleaning, Alagbaro ni yin, to si oko gba. You can see how I was able to deal with your 20-paragraph insults with just six paragraphs. I have told you before, I will repeat it that in sha Allah, Allah will spare our lives, you will apologise to Osun people for taking part in spending 22 billion naira of Osun's money on food and entertainment in the Governor's office in 18 months, while allocating a paltry 3 billion to Agriculture.

Finally, anybody that reads your piece and mine, they will know immediately who between the two of us is an illiterate. In case you or Mr. Rasheed decides to respond to this, kindly include the explanation as to the discrepancy between what you previously claimed you earned as IGR in 2023 and what now featured in the Audited Account of the State. I spotted a difference of over N12 billion. I won't call this a deep seated fraud until I read your explanation on the matter.
