As a matter of emphasis, progress can only be recorded in a peaceful atmosphere devoid of chaotic and riotous situation. There is no Nation that can thrive in the midst of instability occasioned by either protest or outbreak of war. For a nation undergoing renewal, reconstruction, re-engineering and re-invigoration, such a Nation needs ample time to achieve set aims and objectives since we all know that Rome was not built in a day.
It is in the light of the foregoing that a prominent APC Chieftain in Osun State, Dr. Desmond Oludare Ojumu has called on those planning to embark on protest to shelve the idea and prioritize the development and progress of our dear country, Nigeria which can only be achieved through peace and stability.
The erstwhile APC Osun East Senatorial District Aspirant pointed out that protest in most cases does not bring out something beneficial but rather aggravates situations. Dr. Ojumu cited the recent protest in Kenya which led to loss of lives and properties. It will also be recalled that the extermination of lives and destruction of properties experienced during the 2020 EndSARS Protest cannot be quantified suffice to say that caution should not be thrown into the wind before embarking on any protest capable of another mayhem if hijacked by hoodlums who are looking for such avenue to perpetrate evils.
Dr. Ojumu urged aggrieved persons, groups or sections of the country to embrace dialogue instead of trooping to the streets to show grievances. He further mentioned that the protest should not be politicized as we all know that tribal mark comes with pains but becomes fashionable when it heals up.
The foremost philanthropist and successful business tycoon, Dr. Desmond Ojumu has used this medium to implore Nigerians to exercise patience knowing fully well that the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,GCFR is working assiduously and tirelessly to provide solace for the masses in view of the economic hardship bedeviling the nation. He reiterated that Nigerians will soon have the cause to rejoice as there is light after the dark tunnel.
