The Court 1 of the Osun State High Court Ijebu-jesa today set aside the July 1, 2024 ruling of Ilesa High Court which barred the Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa, Oba Omokehinde Oyebade Oyeleye from parading himself as an Oba pending its hearing at the Court of Appeal.
Ruling on the interlocutory injuction filed by Barrister Olasesan Dada Esq., and Supo Oso Esq for the appealant, Justice Olamide Oloyede granted Oba Oyeleye the leave to appeal the July 1 ruling and also granted the stay of judgement execution pending the filing of the appeal at the Court of Appeal.
The Court proceeding was not without drama as Barrister Rasheed Kolawole Esq., who stood in for the plaintiff, Pa Aderogba announced his 'withdrawal from the matter' over which the Judge asked if truly the Barrister was representing his client.
By virtue of this ruling, Oba Omokehinde Oyeleye reserves the benefit of maintaining the status quo ante and resume his official duty as the Ogboni Ipole-Ijesa and Chairman of Ijesa South traditional Council.
