OSUN: Wake Up and See Through the Deception of the Present PDP Administration Under Adeleke!... By Sesan Opadoyin.

It's outrageous how the current government believes they can deceive the citizens of Osun by comparing their 18 months of questionable 'achievements' with the four years of hard work and dedication of the previous administration. Let's break down the facts:

The present PDP administration under Adeleke has received a staggering ₦114 billion in just 18 months, compared to the ₦123.2 billion the previous administration managed over four years. Despite this significant financial advantage, their achievements pale in comparison to those of their predecessors. In about 2 months' time, by 20 months, they will have received even more than what the last administration received in four years.

Let's break it down:

If the state receives ₦114 billion for 18 months, we can calculate the average monthly amount:

₦114 billion ÷ 18 months = ₦6.33 billion per month.

Since there are 12 months in a year, the annual amount would be:

₦6.33 billion/month × 12 months = ₦75.96 billion per year.

For a 4-year term, the total amount would be:

₦75.96 billion/year × 4 years = ₦303.84 billion.

So, by the end of its 4-year term, the state can expect to receive approximately ₦303.84 billion. This is nearly three times what the previous administration received!

Despite this influx of funds, where are the results? Are the roads any better? Have new schools been built? Has healthcare improved? What is the situation in agriculture in the state? The answer to these questions is a resounding no. The infrastructure remains in a dilapidated state, educational facilities are still lacking, and healthcare services are far from adequate.

The good people of Osun should also not forget that within the same four years, Oyetola's administration faced the following challenges:

- COVID-19 Pandemic (2020-2022): This global crisis disrupted economies, strained healthcare systems, and challenged governance worldwide.

- End SARS Protests (2020): Significant protests against police brutality shook Nigeria, causing unrest and testing the resilience of the government.

-Herdsmen-Farmer Conflicts (2018-2020): These clashes necessitated the establishment of the Amotekun corps within the southwest region to enhance security.

- Economic Recession (2016-2017, with effects felt until 2018-2020): The recession due to declining oil prices affected Nigeria's economic stability, posing additional challenges for governance.

Despite these significant hurdles, the previous administration managed to achieve substantial progress. These are some of the facts they don't want the people to know about. The fear of the opposition is the fear of losing out come 2026.

Osun people, it's time to wake up! Don't be fooled by their propaganda and half-truths. The past administration achieved more with less, demonstrating true vision and commitment to the state's progress. It's time we hold the current government accountable for their lack of vision and poor performance.

Let's demand transparency, efficiency, and genuine progress for the benefit of all Osun citizens. The future of our state depends on it.
