Tragedy struck as no fewer than two persons were feared dead in Akure, the Ondo state capital as a vehicle hit four persons on Sunday, injuring others.
The incident, which occurred along Alagbaka, opposite a popular supermarket, involved a Lexus car with number plate BAYELSA SAG 883 AT , two other vehicles and a motorcycle.
Eyewitness told Roving Reporters that the driver of the Lexus car was on high speed as he was descending from Adegbemile Cultural Center axis of Adesida road and later hit the motorcycle from behind killing the rider and the passenger instantly.
According to the witness, the Driver suspected to be a ‘Yahoo Boy’ also rammed his car into a jeep packed on the roadside, injuring a woman waiting for her husband that crossed to the supermarket.
He said, “The guy who drove the car is underage and looks like those Yahoo guys.
“He was coming from Oja Oba side and was on very highspeed before hitting the oka man and another lady from behind killing them instantly.
“He also hit a lady, broke her legs and a woman who was waiting for her husband that crossed to the other side to buy something at the supermarket. In fact, God saved her two kids that stood on the pedestrian lane, he would have killed them all.
When Roving Reporters visited the scene of the incident, the injured woman was still lying down at the passenger door of the vehicle while those gathered were trying to rescue others that were later rushed to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a suspected thief was arrested at the scene while trying to steal mobile phones of the victims.
As passersby were trying to stop any available vehicle to convey the victims to nearby hospital, the suspected thief was said to have focused on stealing items belonging to the victims who were lying in a pool of blood.

The suspect who is an Okada rider however escaped being lynched by the people as the Policemen who were passing by in their patrol vehicle came to his rescue and whisked him away.
