Iwude Ijesa festival Organizers on Thursday had a successful meeting with representatives of Clubs and societies as this year's edition of the festival requires careful planning so as to overcome many obstacles.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and suggestions.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Planning committee, Chief Afolabi Igbaroola unveiled the plan to dissociate the festival from the trend of being controlled by politicians thus “killing” the authenticity of the festival.
"This year and henceforth political parties will not be allowed to seize the occasion and make the gathering and the venue a replica of political rallies." Igbaroola said
The well attended meeting also featured representatives who genuinely shared suggestions on rebranding the festival after the popular Ijebu-Ode Ojude Oba festival.
It was proposed that the spiritual/cultural and social aspects of the Iwude festival be separated by allocating each aspect a dedicated day.so as to give appropriate focus and attention to both components of the festival.

Leading the position of Ijesa sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora who have joined many groups in preparation for this year's edition were Yeyerise of Ilesa and Hadja Fausat Sarumi.
Both strongly recommended relocating the venue of the Iwude Grand Finale from Ereja Civil Center to the more spacious venue such as Ilesa Grammar School mini sport arena or that of University of Ilesa.

Responding, Afolabi Igbaroola assured the meeting that Oba Adekunle Aromolaran II CFR LLD Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland is the chief celebrant and the demands and suggestions would be adequately communicated to him for his counsel.
