APC Hosts NEC And National Caucus Meetings In September

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, is set to call for the long-awaited National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings in September, according to The PUNCH.

This announcement follows President Bola Tinubu’s approval of the meetings in a recent phone conversation with party leaders. These gatherings will mark the first under Ganduje’s leadership since his appointment, along with National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, whose roles were confirmed at the NEC meeting held on August 3, 2023, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Deputy National Organising Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru, confirmed the meetings are scheduled for September but noted that the specific date is still pending NWC deliberations, as outlined in Article 12.3 of the APC Constitution. President Tinubu has suggested September 6 or 18 as potential dates for the meeting.

A source close to the party mentioned that the NEC meeting may primarily focus on the Ganduje-led NWC’s report on their activities over the past year. The party is expected to address internal matters, with the President, Vice President Kashim Shettima, former President Muhammadu Buhari, and other prominent APC figures attending.
