The Kwara State Police Commissioner, Mr Victor Olaiya Friday gave graphic details of how a suspected daredevil driver, Ajiro Kayode murdered his boss and benefactor High Chief Abraham Babatunde, the Aromu of Omu-Aran in cold blood and took away a yet-to-be-specified huge amount of money running into millions of Naira from him.
The Police Commissioner speaking at a press conference at the police command in Ilorin while parading the suspect among others said, that ”During a meticulous investigation, the suspect, Ajiro Kayode, confessed to committing the heinous act.
” On the night of August 20, 2024, at about 2215 hours, Ajiro Kayode admitted to sneaking into Chief Abraham Babatunde’s room and brutally assaulting him with a short, hard plank.
“He struck the deceased multiple times on the back of the head, resulting in his death. To cover up the crime, Ajiro Kayode then dragged Chief Abraham Babatunde’s lifeless body into the toilet to create the false impression that he had accidentally fallen”.
Vanguard Correspondent reliably gathered that the driver Ajiro Kayode for the first time since working with him caught his boss with a huge amount of money running into millions of Naira in the living room earlier in the day before he planned to carry out the heinous crime later in the evening.
