The Armed Forces yesterday rose in stout defense of the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, warned that flying a foreign country’s flag in Nigeria is treasonable, adding it would not be condoned.

He also said that any attempt to undermine the democratic process would be resisted.

The CDC, who spoke with reporters at the State House in Abuja after the National Security Council meeting presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reiterated that the military would not permit any undemocratic change of government.

Also at the meeting were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Presidential Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser (NSA)  Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the three service chiefs – Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla  and Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar –  Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Yusuf Bichi; Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Ahmed Rufai, Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Adewale Adeniyi; and Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Kemi Nanna Nandap.
