Following the palpable failure in the current administration across sectors in Osun State, the concerned citizens have expressed their profound disappointments and displeasures in the way and manner the state government has been managing the affairs of the state in the last 20 months.
The discerning minds who couldn't hold their emotions, genuinely called-in on the live programme to register and ventilate their grievances, during the special Inter-Ministerial Chats put together by the State Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment to give the account of their stewardship to the people.
But surprisingly, the cabinet members on the show stylishly evaded most of the salient questions asked on the programme, ranging from the government's insensitivity to the public plights specifically in the areas of Health, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Education and Commerce.
According to the callers particularly one Mr Babatunde from Ede who categorically asked the Health Commissioner to shed light on the failure of the Adeleke's government to recruit health workers having applied Executive Order to sack those that were employed by the immediate past government, affirming that shortage of health personnel has caused great setback to the sector but the question was conspicuously evaded. So also, the questions posed on the claimed 114 tractors allegedly purchased by the state government as to the cost of each of the tractors; the identity of the supplier/contractor; accurate figure of fertilizer received by the state from Federal Government among others.
There was a gross contradiction noticed on different statements made by the Information and Agriculture Commissioners as to the flag off of the acclaimed 72 tractors already received by the state government.
Babatunde said: "What is the state government doing about 'Japa Syndrome' in relations to our doctors that are leaving Osun everyday because presently we don't have doctors in our hospitals particularly general hospitals".
Olasoji Aliu from Ifon-Osun shared the opinion of Babatunde. According to him, "the primary health centre in Ifon-Osun lacks drugs and necessary medical facilities."
Musibau from Iwo said: "It is unfortunate that this government doesn't take the lives of the people seriously particularly in the infrastructure and agricultural sectors. As I speak to you, Osogbo -Iwo road and Iwo - Ejigbo road are impassable and this has been causing serious problem and setback, so also, in the agriculture. As at today, goats and rodents have taken over the OSADEC in Iwo".
