Osun police warn on activities of some individuals planning fresh protests

The Osun State Police Command has warned that it will not allow any unlawful gatherings by some individuals who are unhappy about the end of EndBadGovernance protests.

The police in a statement by Yemisi Opalola said they will ensure no one disrupts the peace of Osun.

The statement reads “the Osun State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that it is aware of the activities of some unscrupulous elements, who are attempting to disrupt the peace in the state. These individuals are unhappy with the peaceful protest (END BAD GOVERNANCE) carried out by the Coalition of Civil Organizations, Osun State Chapter, which was suspended on 6th August 2024, in honour of the Osun Osogbo Festival.

“The Command assures the public that it will not tolerate any attempt to jeopardize the peace and security of the state. The Command will not fold its arms to allow mischief makers to truncate peaceful atmosphere of the State.

“The public is hereby advised to remain calm and go about their lawful activities, and report any unlawful gathering in any part of the State.”
