24-yr-old man kills friend to avoid repaying N500,000 business loan

Yobe State Police Command has confirmed that 24-year- old Yunusa Isa killed his friend and business partner, Lawan Adamu over a business deal.

It will be recalled that the Command had announced that it launched an investigation into the issue of the arrested Yunusa Isa for the allegation of the gruesome killing of Lawan Adamu, 28, in Damaturu.

On September 16, 2024, the ‘A’ Divisional Police Headquarters had apprehended Yunus Isa, 24, of Shago Tara, Nayi Nawa Ward, for allegedly killing Lawan Adamu.

Initially, the suspect denied involvement despite strong circumstantial evidence.

However, following intense interrogation by State CID Detectives, Yunus Isa confessed to the crime:

Further investigations revealed that Lawan Adamu was his employer and business partner in the engine oil trade.

He was said to have borrowed the sum of N500,000 from Adamu, sometime last year with a profit-sharing agreement.

However, when he failed to meet the agreement terms, Adamu demanded repayment and Yunusa Isa callously murdered Lawan Adamu to avoid repaying the debt, killing him in cold blood.
