"Ijesaland is highly gifted with human capital and there is the need for continuous education on our culture". These were the words of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi Asiwaju of Ijesaland when he hosted chiefs from Ilesa quarters at his Oke baba Okuta, Adebayo Abon, Ilesa residence on Thursday.
The chiefs, Elegbaji, Elegbe Odo, Elegbe Oke, Oloye nla are drawn from some popular Ilesa quarters, "Elegbaji", literally translates to "those who pay 400 cowries (egbaji) to the Owa as tribute on the installation of their chiefs". Elegbe means those who lead associations or bands (egbe) of citizens in the quarters.
At the meeting, further efforts at fostering peace among and within the lower and middle chiefs of Ilesa gained a huge momentum with the hosting of over forty concerned Chiefs.
Resolutions reached
Continuing dialogue on Ijesa unity to be sustained between and among Chiefs and other stakeholders on Ijesa development.
Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi sued for peace and urged for continual celebration of life and times of the late Owa Adekunle Aromolaran II CFR LLD.
