The independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Monday Okpebholo as the winner of the Edo governorship election.
According to the results of the election announced Sunday, the APC candidate scored 291,622. His closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 247,655 votes.
Olumide Akpata, representing the Labour Party (LP), finished third, receiving a total of 22,763 votes.
