The leader of the All Progressives Congress APC in Ijesa zone, Chief Kunle Odeyemi, Ilesa East APC Chairman Hon. Akinola Fowowe and leadership of the party in local government including, Hon. Idowu Falafe, Hon. Mrs. Kofo Omole, Hon. Akinyele Akintola, Hon. Dosu Gidigbi, Hon. Akeem Adesoji Olowoopejobori, among others on Sunday took the party’s candidates for the February 2025 Osun local government elections to ward 9, Ilesa East local government to canvas.support them.
The team was received by a jubilant crowd led by the party’s.ward 9 Chairman and the ward's councillorship candidate, Ismaila Adejuwon who remarked on the difficulty members of the the party passed through during and immediately after the 2022 Governorship election as he reiterated that the party members are now well prepared.
Adejuwon noted that the candidates will emerge victorious in the forthcoming election.
The party Chairman Hon. Akinola Fowowe while presenting the Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Lanre Balogun and his running-mate Hon. Gbenga Omoniyi to party faithful at the Oke-Alaafia meeting ground said Lanre Balogun is versatile and experienced in local government administration. "He is a hardworking man and not a thief, and will not steal your money but rather work tirelessly to improve the lives of the people of the local government.
"He has worked as the chairman of the local government before and put it on the path of development and growth_
On his part, Lanre Balogun promised to improve all sectors of the local government's administration, including security, primary education, health, markets and internal revenue generation among others, making life more meaningful for the Ilesa East people and Ijesa people at large.
The team later moved to Anaye ward 7.
