The Ijesa zone All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Chief Kunle Odeyemi has described the death of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Adekunle Aromolaran as a great loss to Yorubaland in particular and Nigeria in general.
He said this on Saturday while leading a strong delegation of Ijesa South APC leadership to commiserate with Ijesa people at the Aromolaran Civic Centre where the Agbanla Ijesa, many Royal Fathers and High Chiefs, YeyeRise and many Women-chiefs including some distinguished sons and eminent daughters of ljesaland, assembled to mourn and receive eminent visitors that come daily and later at the Ilesa residence of Oba Aromolaran to present their condolences on the transition of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, CFR, LLD, the Owa Obokun Adimula of ljesaland, which sad event was announced on Thursday, September 12th 2024.
“The APC will remember the late Owa Aromolaran as a very brave Ijesa man, a stabilizing voice over the years as many will attest that his ideas and interventions greatly and positively shaped Ijesaland social-economic fabric.
"Being a PHD holder on the throne is a pride for the Ijesa people . He was the first Owa to move into a modern palace."
"The reign of Owa Aromolaran was peaceful and brought lots of development. All the lost hopes in Ijesaland were restored. He was brave and possessed the ethos with what Ijesas are known for. He was a uniting force for Ijesaland."
"As his children, we have learnt a lot from his bravery, his voice of reason has placed Ijesas at the centre of mainstream Osun politics. Oba Adekunle Aromolaran was a progressive man to the core."
The former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Timothy Owoeye also conveyed the condolences of President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue economy HE Adegboyega Oyetola former Osun State governor and leader of the Osun State APC to all Ijesa people and specially to the family of the late Paramount Ruler.
Speaking at the Ijebujesa road, Ilesa country home of the late Oba when the delegation paid commiserating visit to the wives of the departed monarch, Olori Omolola Aromolaran, Olori Idowu Aromolaran and Prince Adegoke Aromolaran, Owoeye said Oba Aromolaran's era evidently brought unprecedented development to better the lots of his people.
"He was one of the most respected Nigeria monarch, who made his mark in both public and private sectors,”
Owoeye remarked that, as a first class monarch, Aromolaran etched his name in gold as a firm believer in the oneness of Ijesaland as could be evidently proved with the good number of the assembly of Ijesaland royal fathers gathering at the Aromolaran Civic Centre participation at the declared 7-day mourning period.
Members of delegation also included Prince Femi Kujembola, Hon. Thomas Jebutu, Hon. Idowu Falade, Hon. Tunde Faleye, Hon. Akinyele Akintola, Hon. Sayo Abimbola, Hon Wale Adedoyin, Hon.
