Olumobi Dr Jacob Adetayo Haastrup, installed Olumobi of Imobi - Ijesa, Atakumosa West local government, Osun State by the Late Paramount Ruler of ljesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran., PhD, LLD on May 16th 2016 was the former Director, Information and Communication of National Hospital, Abuja. He us the outgoing Director public relations / spokesman for the hospital having   served meritoriously for 25 years.




He met his wife, Hon. Justice Rakiya Bosede Haastrup from Kaltungo local government, Gombe State while serving as a National Youth Service Corps member.

BRIEF PROFILE ON OLUMOBI JACOB ADETAYO HAASTRUP, Ph.D, FCIPM, FNIPR, FIMC, FHAN, FITD, CMC, JP


Public Administrator and Policy Analyst, Consutant Communication and Human Resource Management/Traditional Head/Ruler


The journey of a thousand miles starts with a step. OLUMOBI (Dr.) Jacob Adetayo Haastrup was born on May 17th 1965 in Ilesa to the family of Prince and Mrs. Emmanuel Aderogba Haastrup (Alaba Family of the Bilaro Oluodo Ruling House of ljesaland).



He started his elementary school in 1970 at St. John's 'B" Primary School, Iloro, llesa and continued with his Secondary education in lfewara High School, Ifewara. He later proceeded to the Oyo State (now Osun State) College of Education. llesa for his National Certificate in Education (NCE) Programme.



His desire to unbind himself from the shackle of ignorance propelled him to the University of llorin where he graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Education (BA. Ed, 1991). He promptly followed up by obtaining his Master's Degree (1994) in Public Administration from the same University.



His affinity for excellence and his desire to impact his environment/Community prodded him to bag a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D. 2011), Public Administration and Policy Analysis from the University of Abuja.



In addition to his career achievements, OLUMOBI (Dr.) Jacob Adetayo Haastrup is a member of the following professional bodies to which he has made invaluable contributions.

OLUMOBI Jacob Adetayo Haastrup is married to Hon. Justice Rakiya Bosede Haastrup and they are blessed with four (4) wonderful children

• Dr. Jacob Adetayo Haastrup represented the Federal Government on the council of NIPR in year 2023


Dr. Haastrup was the past chairman of Public Policy and Advocacy Committee of CIPMN and past Governing Council Member.


He was the Chairman, Conflict and Meditation Committee on the council of CIPMN


He was the Executive Secretary of the Board of Trustees for the Foundation for the Advancement of Ethics and Values in Nigeria (FAEV). 


He was a former Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Capital City Chapter Abuja and Chairman Telmark & Associates Ltd. Abuja.



He served National Hospital for 25 years as Head of Training/Establishment in Personnel Department and later retired as the Deputy Director in lIPMD/Spokesperson for the Hospital.


Dr. Jacob Adetayo Haastrup is a strong believer in the Almighty Creator. To this end, he has served as founding member and pioneer secretary of the National Hospital Chapel. He attended the prestigious leadership religious Institute, the Haggai Institute in Maui, Hawaii United States of America. He is also a Jerusalem Pilgrim.



He has travelled widely all over the World.
