2024 International Day Of The Girl Child: Ogungbangbe Charges Global Parents, Care Givers On Girl Child... By ISAAC OLUSESI






Parents are not to get unduly agitated, panicky and jittery on the future of the girl child but should stand tall and venerated, remain calm and not generate turbulence within to cause worry lines on the forehead that has not yet acquired the wrinkles of age.

Dr Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe said this on the occasion  of the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child.


The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer CITA ENERGIES recommended a well ordered obligations and  superlative actions to the global parents and care providers for the girl child. This, he saud, is the best alternative tool for coordinating significantly critical development blueprints on the rights and opportunities for the growth and survival of the girl child in the astronomical rise in the proportions of the young female child with access to basic resources, translated  to commitment to her age related prosperity in terms of enrollment in schools for quality education, comfort, safety from violence, gender equality advancements, other empowerments as healthcare, general welfare, for the betterment of the their  tomorrow.


The All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain in the Ife/Ijesa axis of Osun State cited the girl child's power of voice and vision for the future, stating that the girl child is a born leader with foresight, intelligence and influence who also displays confidence and  dreams to transform societies and change the world. He added, "the girl child represents a dream, the sum total of her wishes and ambition to be well fed, well clothed and well educated in comfort and peace." 


The icon of the Owaloko of Iloko - Ijesa in Oriade local government council area of the state noted that mothers, heart warming and urbane are good at nurturing relationships and are supportive, illustrating their impactful motherly love  for children.


Prince Ogungbangbe lampooned hostility to the girl child where such exits, saying that "the social contract is that the girl child expects the society and government at all levels to be both willing and capable of looking after her and her survival, and not her parents or care giver look like a neighbour the girl child would rather not wish to live with."


He charged parents to exhibit zeal and enthusiasm at all times within the bounds of reasonability and the socially acceptable and see the girl child grows to her future to make that future a reality.
