It is always creepy if someone who is supposed to be imbued with a depth of knowledge of a prevailing situation is found wanting or results to deliberate twisting of a verifiable fact which is the basis for avoidable ranting in order to score a cheap political point that has missed its intended target.
The spewing of gibberish and tantrums against the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Alhaji Isiaq Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, by Sola Fasure, the spokesman of Mr Rauf Aregbesola, the leader of a renegades group of politicians who swam against the political tide in the mid-Sea and now confined to the metaphorical political well, is a reference point of how blind loyalty can hinder proper sense of reasoning.
For anyone to state conclusively that the Osun APC which is the foremost opposition party in the state today is dead and left with three people namely the state party chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, Sunday Akere and myself may necessitate the attention of an expert in schizophrenic disease as it defies any known logic to arrive at such a baseless and puerile submission, that is grossly lacking in substance.
The Osun State chapter of the PDP which knows where the shoe pinches would not agree with the shoddy and ineffectual appraisal of the state chapter of the APC by Fasure in order to please his principal.
There was nothing that Akere stated at the press parley organized by the Association of Osun State Veteran Journalists on Thursday in Osogbo that are not justifiable and it was the intensity of the truthfulness of the Akere copious allegations against the paymaster of Fasure which prompted the needless vituperations and invectives oozing out from the despicable mouth of the spokesman of the political leader of yesterday who has lost relevance due to rabid ambition.
Is it not a statement of fact that crediting the defunct inglorious The Osun Progressives (TOP) that changed its nomenclature to Omoluabi Progressive Movement as the cause of the loss of Osun State during the 2022 elections by the APC is tantamount to giving the political renegades the overrated relevance they did not possess?
All discerning minds who do not give to pretence are quite aware that Aregbesola is fighting a proxy war with Alhaji Oyetola in order to get at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former benefactor of the ex-minister of interior and one time Osun State governor.
It is a pity that the former Osun State Governor Aregbesola is unduly cashing in on the meekness, modesty and gentle nature of the minister of Marine and Blue Economy who can hardly hurt a fly to cause schism to his political voyage predicating his actions and inactions on the fact that the Iragbiji-born state leader of the APC doesn't have penchant for haughtiness and notorious street activities.
By their actions, we shall know them. It is not until the pocket of Aregbesola adherents turned it into a song as they shamelessly did in Iwo few days ago that those who are not thinking with their anuses would observe and conclude that they have since potted out of the APC which they collectively worked against glaringly during the 2022 general elections.
Is it not a statement of fact as adumbrated by Akere, former state Commissioner for Information, that the Aregbesola followers worked for the election of the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who later emerged the governor, and that some of the Aregbesola adherents were settled with juicy positions in the Adeleke administration?
We even appreciate the latest position of the Aregbesola followers, both of who are on indefinite suspension and expelled members, indicating that they have collectively dumped the APC which is a great relief to the wellbeing of our party as we shall be happy and pleased to miss them as their stand is now categorical.
We need to point out to Fasure and his ilks that Sooko Lawal, Akere and Olabisi do not need to do anything far from being virtuous before they are considered for Federal appointments by President Tinubu through the state leader of the APC, Alhaji Oyetola, as it is on record that they had paid their dues and its tacit mention by the Aregbesola spokesman is a mere superfluity.
Fasure should be bold and man enough to advise his paymaster to master how to choose his battle as his protracted proxy war with President Tinubu which has caused him a monumental loss at the Presidency through perennial alienation would not confer any special advantage on him and his unregistered group of political dissidents who have been disgracing themselves across the state.
We need to state it unequivocally that the Osun State APC shall emerge victorious in the 2026 general elections as all the man-made political landmines which were variables would not be there again and the plight of the APC in Osun State would be like that of President Tinubu at the Federal level during the 2023 elections when Mr Aregbesola pungently worked against the candidature of President Tinubu.
