Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi.......8th year of Championing Unprecedented Community-Driven Development in Ijesaland!

Unarguably, one chieftaincy conferment that the late Owa Obokun Adimula Oba Dr Adekunle Aromolaran II, CFR LLD, The Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland did understand accurately and did correctly remains the conferment of the Asiwaju titles on  Olayinka Lington Fasuyi and Dr. Olubusi Fasuyi when the couple were installed the first ever Asiwaju of Ilesa and Yeye Asiwaju of Ilesa by His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, CFR, LL.D, Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland in the presence of unprecedented mammoth eminent audience ever witnessed at Chieftaincy Conferment Ceremony in Ijesaland on Saturday, 22nd October, 2016.., Exactly eight years ago!





At the Commissioning of one of Asiwaju's historic achievements; the imposing, beautiful, magnificent, and Ultra-modern Owa Obokun Adimula Palace, which was initiated by Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi and completed in a record time of 9-month inspite of the construction happening within the peak period of global ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, CFR, LL.D the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland could not hide his joy, satisfaction, excitement, and fulfilment on Saturday, 26th December, 2020, 





In appreciation of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi's initiative and championing the addition of this monumental landmark edifice to Ijesaland and in the presence of the sitting former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola; his Cabinet; Traditional Rulers from Ijesaland; Eminent Ijesa Leaders; Pan-Ijesa Societies; Prominent Sons and Daughters of Ijesaland both at home and those visiting from the diaspora; and the global media announced to the world the meritorious upgrade of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi and Yeye Asiwaju Dr Olubisi Fasuyi from Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju of Ilesa to the highly revered and most respected and acknowledged Chieftaincy title in Ijesaland THE ASIWAJU OF IJESALAND AND YEYE ASIWAJU OF IJESALAND respectively thereby both earning a new history as THE FIRST ASIWAJU AND YEYE ASIWAJU OF IJESALAND and appropriate Certificates bearing the new titles consequently issued.




Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi with the support of his 'jewel of inestimable value' took the honour of this Chieftaincy Conferment as a challenge and evidently, in the last eight years demonstrated uncommon leadership in the following developmental interventions in Ijesaland.


In this edition to celebrate Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi's celebration of 8th year installation anniversary, KAKAKIOODUA online media presents a highlight of his 14 unprecedented achievements. 


1.The IBEDC AND IJESALAND ORDEAL



Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi leading the AIG Adeleye Oyebade and his team to a meeting with the top management of IBEDC in Ibadan, Wednesday 20th March, 2019.

In March, 2019, some residents of Ilesa in Osun State, staged a protest on major streets of the town and suspected hoodlums assaulted and robbed employees of the company in three different offices within the Ilesa business hub.


Following the attack, the IBEDC cut power supply to the six local government areas in Ijesaland and slammed a 5-year electricity outage.


Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi swiftly moved to save Ijesaland from the embarrassment of being cut off from the National Grid by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) arising from IBEDC/ljesaland imbroglio of March 2019. A planned punishment of minimum of 5-year Electricity cut-off was reduced to less than 3 months due to intervention of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi.



2. UNITY OF TRADITIONAL RULERS AND COMMUNITIES 



Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi realised that for Ijesa as a Sub-Nation to progress, grow, and develop, all communities in Ijesaland must come together to live in love, peace, and harmony. Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi therefore conveyed and organised, with the consent of His Imperial Majesty, the first and second Unity Meetings of all Traditional Rulers in Ijesaland at Ifewara and Ijebu-jesa respectively in 2019


3. HEROES OF IJESA UNITY: RESPONSE TO ILARE-IJESA ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER




Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi initiated and established the concept of unity in ljesaland known as THE HEROES OF IJESA UNITY.


A concept of entrenching unity among the over 200 communities in Ijesaland where we deepen our inter-communities bond and support for one and another.


The maiden demonstration of the intervention of THE HEROES OF IJESA UNITY was the mobilization of entire Ijesa by Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi towards donation and presentation of the relief fund cheque of over N16m to Ilare-Ijesa Community to support the community in the reconstruction of its Community Civic Centre destroyed by the windstorm of Friday, 27th January, 2023.


4. CONTINUOUS PAYMENT OF WAEC FEES FOR STUDENTS OF PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN THE SIX LGAS OF IJESALAND




Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi Foundation (AYFF), can be mentioned as a change maker who believes that the more Ijesa children are educated, the more they grow to become responsible citizens who can contribute positively to growth and development of Ijesaland.


Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi Foundation (a foundation fully owned and funded by the duo) has continued to pay the WAEC Fees of Students from Secondary Schools from the six (6) LGAs in Ijesaland. Paid for 100 Students in 2017/2018; 200 Students in 2018/2019; 250 Students in 2019/2020; 310 Students in 2020/2021; 310 Students in 2021/2022; and set to pay for 435 Students in 2022/2023.


5. SEED FUNDING OF IJESA YOUTHS’ DEVELOPMENT FUND


Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi through his foundation, AYFF conceived and inaugurated Ijesa Youths Development Fund with a seed fund of N12,000,000 (Twelve Million Naira) only to support our Youths in Ijesaland in mobilizing and funding their sustainable development.


Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi further challenged the youths to establish “Ijesa Youth Development Fund” through which the youth leadership in Ijesaland would reach-out to all stakeholders in mobilizing a minimum of NGN10Million each for the six LGAs which comes up to NGN 60 Million for the entire six LGAs.. These funds would invariably serve as the seed money to establish and for immediate kick-off of the various vocational and entrepreneurship skill centres across the six LGAs. 



In demonstration of his support for the mobilization of these take-off funds, the convener; Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi pledged to donate the sum of NGN 2Million each to each of these six LGAs for the mobilization of the Ijesa Youth Development Fund totaling NGN 12Million.




6. ESTABLISHMENT OF IJESA MINERAL RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT FORUM (IMRDF)


Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi established the formation of Ijesa Mineral Resources Development Forum (IMRDF) a Non-governmental organisation, comprising of renowned professionals, that has been championing the continuous Advocacy and Enlightenment of Ijesa people on the environmental hazards associated with mining activities prevailing in ljesaland in order to save human lives and protect our environment from degradation, all being financed by members without recourse to government.


7. CONSTRUCTION OF OWA OBOKUN ADIMULA PALACE




Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi initiated, championed, and mobilized Ijesas home and abroad for the construction of a befitting Ultra-modern Palace of Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland within a 9-month, commissioned on Saturday, 26th December, 2020, thereby having the most beautiful Palace in Nigeria in ljesaland.



8. CONSTRUCTION OF IJESALAND GERIATRIC CENTRE




Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, championed, and mobilized fellow Ijesa Compatriots in constructing the largest community-funded project in Nigeria in 1B (One Billion Naira) Ijesaland Geriatric Centre, Ilesa, in 10-month, making Ijesaland the home to the biggest Geriatric Hospital in West Africa. Commissioned in March 2022.


9. ESTABLISHMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILESA


Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi initiated fresh dynamic effort to open previous efforts of Ijesa Leaders under preceding Administrations before former Governor Adegboyega by initiating, strategizing and championing the Upgrading of the Osun State College of Education, Ilesa to a full-fledged University under the Administration of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. The effort which paid off with eventual approval of the University of Ilesa on the 31st March, 2022 and the University Act signed into Law on the 27th September, 2022. And the National Universities Commission (NUC) gave an operating license to the University of Ilesa on the 10 November, 2022.


10. SCHOLARSHIP EMPOWERMENT OF 250 IJESA YOUTHS WITH TECHNICAL & VOCATIONAL EDUCATION 


Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi mobilized committed Ijesa like-minded philanthropists, through the FSTC Scholarship Management Committee (FSMC) to sponsor 250 candidates of Ijesa origin in the 3-Year courses at the Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC), Ilesa. The school fees/total value of scholarship for the 250 students who have already resumed for their studies on Monday, 9th October 2023 amounts to N150,000,000 (One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira). 


11. RAISING IJESA ELDERS LIFE EXPECTANCY BEYOND 120 YEARS: NHIS Flags off Ijesa Elderlies Health Insurance Scheme under NHIA-GIFSHIP.

12. IJESALAND MAKES HISTORY IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MONITORS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE AT LOCAL GOVERNMENT



With the swearing-in of the 7-MAN Independent Development Monitors, Ijesaland thereby becomes the first Community in Nigeria to establish such a LGAs' Performance Monitoring Team who are expected to do a quarterly inspection and monitoring of all development projects executed by the six LGAs viz a vis their respective budgets and revenues profiles and in return report the quarterly performances to the Ijesa public through an interactive website and portal solely designed for this purpose.






13. IMPLEMENTATION PLAN ON AGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION IN IJESALAND 


ICDA's initiative embarked upon since last year 2023 when ICDA took the bull by the horn in initiating a strategic partnership between ICDA and Leventis Foundation Nigeria School of Agriculture.



A partnership that results in the current training of about 100 Youth in modern agricultural practices and agricpreneurship at the Leventis Foundation Nigeria School of Agriculture based in Ilesa, Osun State.



These 100 Youth enrollees who will be completing their full residential course in December 2024 thereby provide a veritable and solid foundation upon which the vision and mission of Osun State Government to revolutionalise agriculture would surely be laid.


14. Initiating Scholarship for 250 Ijesa Students at the Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC), Ilesa 






Asiwaju Fasuyi Hosts Ilesa Chiefs, Elegbaji, Elegbe Odo, Oloye nla 


"Ijesaland is highly gifted with human capital and there is the need for continuous education on our culture". These were the words of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi Asiwaju of Ijesaland when he hosted chiefs from Ilesa quarters at his Oke baba Okuta, Adebayo Abon, Ilesa residence.



The first Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi was on Saturday 29th of April, 2023 installed as the “Balogun Ijo” of the Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity, Omofe, Anglican communion, Diocese of Ilesa South West. 




The church was almost filled to the brim when the Chief host, The Rt. Rev’d Samuel Olukunle Egbebunmi, the Diocesan of Ilesa South West Diocese. ushered in other Bishops, ministers and the choir into the spacious Omofe Cathedral, venue of the epoch making event.








Today is a day to appreciate Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, Asiwaju of Ijesaland for his selflessness and dedication. His trustworthiness has inspired many other Ijesa sons and daughters to have confidence of participation in the ongoing Ijesaland developmental agenda
