History was recorded yesterday in Ijesaland when all the Stakeholders converged to speak with one voice in support of Transparency, Accountability, Good Governance and Results-Driven in the Administration of all the six Local Government Areas in Ijesaland following the Supreme Court judgement of 11th July 2024 that constitutionally granted financial autonomy to all the 774 LGAs in the country.
With the swearing-in of the 7-MAN Independent Development Monitors, Ijesaland thereby becomes the first Community in Nigeria to establish such a LGAs' Performance Monitoring Team who are expected to do a quarterly inspection and monitoring of all development projects executed by the six LGAs viz a vis their respective budgets and revenues profiles and in return report the quarterly performances to the Ijesa public through an interactive website and portal solely designed for this purpose.
The epoch inauguration and presentation of Ijesaland Independent Development Monitors (IIDM) which was presided over by the Asiwaju of Ijesaland and The Chairman of Ijesa Community Development Assembly (ICDA), Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi, an occasion in which Barr. Dele Ibironke, SAN and Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ilesa Branch, Barr. Raymond Oki and five other legal practitioners administered the oath of office on the Independent Monitors.

It is historical that all the above mentioned Traditional Rulers, Pan-Ijesa Societies and Clubs, Church and Mosque Organisations, Trade Groups and Unions, all signed and endorsed The Register of Advocates of Good Governance, Transparency, Accountability, and Results-Driven Administration of Local Governments in Ijesaland.
