Former Chief of Staff in Osun State, Dr Peter Babalola, has hailed the re-election of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as the governor-elect of Ondo State in the Saturday's election.
Babalola who described the outcome of the election as a triumph of democracy over falsehood and subterfuge stated that it was an indication of an open display of separation of powers under the forward-looking and visionary administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Babalola disclosed that the election that produced Aiyedatiwa was not only free and fair but credible as attested to by events before, during and after the election.
He explained that it was a good thing that such an open display of the governorship election successfully happened in the neighbouring Ondo State with the unshakable hope and conviction that it would radiate to Osun State in 2026.
He congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leader of the APC in Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the Ondo State governor-elect, Mr Aiyedatiwa and his APC political family, the entire APC members in Osun State on the victory of the party in the Ondo State governorship election.
Babalola stated further that one does not need to be a primate in order to know that as it was in Edo and Ondo states, so shall it be in the other states in the Southwest where God Almighty has opened their inner eyes to know that there is no alternative to the APC in the geo-political zone at the moment.
In Babalola's words: "I am happy to identify with a winning team. I want to plead with my brothers and sisters who are still in the political wilderness to urgently make up their minds before the political train kicks off.
"I will continue to pray for the continuous God's guidance for the administration of the APC in Ondo State under the able leadership of the APC governor
"May the administration of Mr. Aiyedatiwa be a source of inspiration, joy and fulfilment in all ramifications for the people of Ondo State", Babalola prayed.
