AREGBESOLA'S SUSPENSION, THE BEST OPTION FOR MOVING OSUN APC FORWARD - Dynamic Reformers

A socio-political group in Osun State, the Dynamic Reformers (DR), has commended the leaderships of the party in Ilesa-East Local Government Council Area and at the state level for having the political liver to carry out the suspension of the former state Governor Rauf Aregbesola over the sundry allegations of anti-party activities.

The chairman of the group, Mr Duro Olaleke, who is a chieftain of the APC in Odo-Otin Local Government Council Area of the state, stated that the suspension of Aregbesola who is the immediate-past Minister of Interior, was long overdue as he has not been associating with the APC at all the levels of the party since five years ago.

Olaleke, a retired educationist from one of the Federal Government Colleges explained that the suspension and expected expulsion  of Aregbesola is the first panacea for the APC leading opposition party in the state if truly the party is serious about wrestling power from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the forthcoming 2026 staggered governorship election.

The DR chairman stated that the wild jubilation from various strata of the society especially within the party in Osun State that greeted the formal suspension of the former Minister of Interior was an indication that he has become a political paper tiger in the political firmament of the state.

He reminded Aregbesola that it would be foolhardy and unthinkable of him to think that he can turn the state into his conquered territory where he can dictate at will having lost his grip of the party in the Alimosho Local Government Council Area of Lagos State where he was an Alfa and Omega for several years.

Olaleke explained further that whoever have been following the political trend of events in the state would not agree less with him that Aregbesola had technically expelled himself from the APC which he abandoned since 2019.

According to the DR chairman: "What manner of a political leader would be visibly working against the interest of his party for no just cause to the extent of aiding the then  opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP to wrestle the state from his party?

"What manner of a political leader would be openly cursing, criticizing and abusing the governorship candidate of his party before, during after the election and rolling out the drums with the handful of his supporters to celebrate the loss of his party?

"What manner of a political party for whatever reason would not campaign or vote for any of the candidates of his party during the last series of the elections since the time that he abandoned the party?

"How many lives of the members of the APC did Aregbesola touch when he was the minister of interior for about four years apart from the pocket of the renegades group who have been following him sheepishly without the capability to think for themselves?

"Aregbesola should mention the prominent politicians among his supporters apart from the former Secretary to the State Government who is also a defeated governorship candidate of an obscured party during the 2018 election, Alhaji Moshood  Adeoti; former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Najeem Salaam; Mr Biyi Adelowo, the handpicked former state acting chairman of the party and Alhaji Razak Salinshile, former state secretary of the APC and other political minions constituting his self-acclaimed Omoluabi Progressives.

"The list of who's who is endless in the mainstream of the party that parades among others, the party's state chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal and the entire state executive officers of the party, two former governors in the persons of Chief Bisi Akande and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola; four deputy governors in the persons of Senator Iyiola Omisore, Sooko Adeleke Adewoyin, Otunba Titi Laoye-Ponnle, Mr Benedict Gboyega Alabi and a host of other past high-flying political office holders.

"Those who are following Aregbesola sheepishly in his political misadventure should put on their thinking cap with a view to fashioning their political future in Osun State.

"It is wickedness that could have made Aregbesola who had benefitted from the progressive party as a commissioner,  a governor and a minister to be pulling down the same political party that made him", the DR chairman stated.
