Ilesa metropolis of Osun State was agog with a grand celebration on Saturday, November 23, 2024, as prominent dignitaries, traditional Rulers, political class, and members of the public gathered from all walks of life to honor the late His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II CFR, LLD, the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, of blessed memory.
The royal father, who joined his ancestors at the remarkable age of 87 on the 11th September, 2024, having reigned as the 40th Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland for 42 years, has his traditional final passage rite slated for 14th December, 2024.
On Saturday, Oba Aromolaran II was remembered by his family in a solemn Thanksgiving Memorial Service marked with glowing tributes at the Methodist Cathedral Church. Otapete, Ilesa, Osun State.
The ceremony was not only a celebration of a life well-lived but also a testament to his lasting impact on Ijesaland, and Osun State as a whole.
The Church service as expected was graced by notable royal fathers, High Chiefs, key figures from Ijesaland traditional leadership, Elders' Forum, Osun government, political class and also friends and associates of the wives, princes and princesses left behind by the late royal father.
