Report reaching KAKAKIOODUA has revealed that Prince Clement Adesuyi Haastrup has been installed as Loja of Igbo-Ikin a village near Odogbo Ijesa, Atakumosa East local government, Osun State.
Ijesaland tradition stipulates that for a prince to ascend the throne of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, he must have been a Loja of any of the villages of Ijesaland.
The report informed that Prince Suyi Haastrup was in Ilesa two days ago and stayed in a house at Imo axis of Ilesa metropolis where he was guarded by fully armed police from the state.
Ijesa chiefs, sons and daughters are keenly watching this drama as the kingmakers are yet to commence the process for choosing the next Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland which can only commence after the completion of the traditional 90-day mourning period in preview for after December 10, 2024.
KAKAKIOODUA called on Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa for his side of the story.
Oba Omokehinde Samson Oyebade Oyeleye described Prince Suyi Haastrup'd installation as a minor chieftaincy issue with the Osun Ministry of local government and chieftaincy Affairs backup.
As the President of the Atakumosa East Council of Obas he was well carried along and had no option but to give the go-ahead to the concerned chiefs of the area though he didn't participate in person at the installation..
"The doors are opened for the princes that want to be Loja to come to fulfill the prerequisites as there are still many villages in Atakumosa East with vacant Loja stools. He told KAKAKIOODUA jokingly.
