In a move to strengthen Nigeria’s engagement on linguistic and diplomatic fronts, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Jami’u Abiola as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Linguistics and Foreign Matters.
The appointment, announced through a press release issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen, became effective on November 14, 2024.
The appointment aligns with the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act 2008, as amended.
Jami’u Abiola, a seasoned professional, previously served as Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties in the Office of the Vice President.
His elevation underscores the administration’s commitment to leveraging expertise for national development.
In his new role, Abiola is expected to collaborate closely with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
President Tinubu urged him to utilize his extensive experience to enhance Nigeria’s global standing and effectively address linguistic and cultural dimensions of foreign policy.
